TexPass

How it works

How a product passport comes together

A product passport holds the proof for one style, lot or order: a garment, a fabric, a home textile or yarn. Fabric passports from your suppliers link into it, and tests and certificate checks complete it.

Two layers: the product and its materials

Buyers ask about the finished product, but much of the proof starts with the fabric. TexPass keeps both, linked.

  1. Product passport

One per style, lot or PO: composition, where it was made, product certificates and product tests. Owned by the brand, exporter or importer.

  2. Fabric passports

One per fabric lot, created free by the mill, knitter or trader. Linked into the product with their own proof.

  3. Tests and certificate checks

NABL-accredited lab reports and registry checks of GOTS, OEKO-TEX and Textile Exchange certificates, on either layer.

Importers & brands

Get proof from your suppliers, wherever they are, and testing when you need it.

  1. Ask your factory

Send a request link for the products you buy. The supplier answers with a product passport.
  2. See what was checked

Certificates with registry links, Verified checks and Lab-tested results, fabric included.
  3. Order testing

Tell us the product and the market. The sample goes to our Tiruppur or Bangalore office.
  4. Results on your passport

The lab's report and the results on a private product passport you own.

Exporters and brands

About as much effort as forwarding a PDF, once per style.

  1. Create a product passport

Sign up with your email, then add the style or lot, composition and where it was made.
  2. Link the fabric

Request a fabric passport from your mill on WhatsApp, or upload the fabric documents yourself.
  3. Upload and confirm

Add certificates and reports. We read the details; you confirm them before anything is published.
  4. Verify what matters

Order certificate, business or lab report checks, or a test package for your buyer's market.
  5. Publish and share

Send the link to your buyer, or print the QR on hang tags and care labels.

Lab tests

What happens when you order a test

Each step shows on your order as it happens.

  1. Choose a package and pay

Packages list every test with its method code, one price and the usual turnaround.
  2. Send the sample

To our Tiruppur or Bangalore office, by courier or drop-off, labelled with the order slip.
  3. Photo and counter-sample

When the sample arrives we photograph it with the slip and keep a sealed counter-sample with the order.
  4. An accredited lab tests it

An NABL-accredited lab runs the tests and issues the report.
  5. You decide what's published

You see the results first. Publish them on your passport as Lab-tested, or keep them private.

Verification

What happens when you order a check

  • A person looks it up

Certificates on the official registry (GOTS, OEKO-TEX, Textile Exchange), businesses on the GST or company registry, lab reports with the lab that issued them.
  • Everything must match

Number, holder, scope and dates for a certificate; legal name and status for a business; report number and date for a lab report.
  • Badge on, details masked

A match shows Verified or Verified business with the date. Certificate numbers, files and names are masked on the public page.

The fee is for the check, not the result. A check that fails shows no badge and isn't refunded.

How verification works

Privacy

What the public page shows

Proof for your customers, without handing your supply chain to competitors.

  • Free details are shown as provided by the maker, without a badge.
  • Verified items keep their badge, while certificate numbers, files, manufacturer and lab details are masked. The owner can unmask any of them.
  • Lab test results stay public: test, method, value and pass or fail.
  • Supplier names can be hidden for free.
  • The owner can hide one test. A neutral line near the bottom names it, for example: "Not shown publicly by the passport owner: Formaldehyde (ISO 14184-1)".
  • When something is masked or hidden, a "Need the full details? Email the brand" line opens the visitor's own email app. TexPass stores nothing.
  • Retailers and auditors can get a private full-detail link from the owner that shows everything.

How verification works

Fabric suppliers

When a customer asks you for a TexPass.

  1. Open their request

Your customer sends a request link listing the certificates and tests they need.
  2. Create a free fabric passport

One per lot, with your certificates and test reports. Keep anything private you want.
  3. It links into their product

Your fabric shows on their product passport, and you can send the same link to other buyers.

For fabric suppliers

Try it with one style

Pick a style you ship often and add the proof you already have. You can add the fabric and tests later.
