Example passport

See what your customers see

A product passport has two layers: the product, and the materials it's made from. Here is a garment tag as one example, then the live fabric passport linked into it.

The brand, maker, certificate and report numbers on this example are fictional.

Layer 1

The product

What a customer sees when they scan the hang tag or care label. This garment tag is an illustration with fictional data; fabrics, home textiles and yarn use the same format.

  1. The tag

Brand, style, composition, sizes and where it was made. The manufacturer is a verified business, so it shows as "Verified manufacturer · Tamil Nadu, India".
  2. Proof at a glance

Badges sum up what was verified and lab-tested, across the product and its fabric.
  3. Fabric

Each linked fabric lot appears as its own small tag with its proof. Verified fabric from a private mill shows no name and no link.
  4. QR and short link

The tear-off stub carries the QR code and link you print on tags and labels.

Layer 2

The fabric (live)

This is the live fabric passport linked into the product above, created by the mill. Everything on it works the way your own passports will.

  1. Certificates

Number, validity and holder for every certificate. Verified ones say where and when they were checked; others link to the official registry.
  2. Lab tests

Each result with its method code, limit and outcome, plus the lab's report and when the sample was received.
  3. Where it was made

Knitting, dyeing and finishing units, shown only when the owner makes them public.
