About TexPass
What is TexPass?
TexPass gives each textile product a passport: one page with its composition, where it was made, the materials it's made from, its certificates and its lab results, plus a link and QR code. Garments, fabrics, home textiles, yarn and more, made anywhere. We also arrange testing and certificate checks, run from India.
Is TexPass a lab or a certification body?
No. Accredited labs issue test reports and certification bodies issue certificates. TexPass is a testing and certificate-verification partner operating in India: we arrange tests at NABL-accredited labs, check certificates on official registries and put the results on a passport. Every report names the lab that issued it.
Who is TexPass for?
Importers and brands anywhere, textile and garment exporters and manufacturers, and D2C brands, for products made in any country. Fabric mills, knitters and traders use it free when their customers ask for a fabric passport.
Is it free?
Creating passports, uploading documents and having them read is free, with no subscription. You pay per check or test you order, in US dollars, at the price shown before you order.
Importers and foreign brands
Do I need a passport to order testing?
No. Tell us the product, the supplier and the market you sell in. We arrange the tests at an NABL-accredited lab and send you the lab's report, with the results on a private product passport you own.
How does the sample reach the lab?
You or your supplier send the sample to our Tiruppur or Bangalore office, by courier or drop-off. We photograph it on arrival, keep a sealed counter-sample and send it to an NABL-accredited lab.
Which tests do I need for my market?
It depends on the product and where you sell it. Our market requirements pages list the legal rules and common buyer requests for the EU, US, UK, Canada and Australia with official sources, and we suggest a test package when you order.
Can TexPass issue the US Children's Product Certificate?
No. The US importer or domestic manufacturer issues the Children's Product Certificate, based on tests by a third-party lab that CPSC has accepted for each required test. Tell us when a product is for children and we'll confirm which lab can run the tests before you order.
Testing and samples
Which labs do you use?
NABL-accredited labs in India, where we run testing for products made anywhere. Every report names the lab that issued it and carries the lab's own report number.
How long does testing take?
Each package shows its usual lab turnaround in working days, counted from the day the lab receives the sample. Your order page shows each step as it happens.
What if a test fails?
You see the results first and decide what to publish. A failed result is never shown as passed.
Verification
What does Verified mean?
A person at TexPass checked the item against the official source: a certificate on the official registry, or a lab report with the lab that issued it. The passport shows the badge and the date of the check, and masks the certificate number, file and issuer details.
What is a business check?
A person checks a manufacturer, mill or supplier against the business registry: GST or PAN in India, the national company registry elsewhere (up to 5 working days). The public page shows "Verified manufacturer" with the state or country, never the name.
What if a check fails?
The item shows no badge and stays as it was uploaded. The fee is for the check, not the result, so it isn't refunded. Renewed or expired certificates need a new check.
Exporters and brands
How do I add the fabric to a product passport?
Ask your fabric supplier for a fabric passport with a request link on WhatsApp. They create one free and it links into your product. You can also upload the fabric documents yourself.
Do I have to type everything in?
No. We read the details from your documents, such as certificate numbers, dates and test results. You check them and confirm before anything is published.
Can I put the QR code on hang tags and care labels?
Yes. Every passport has a QR code and a short link you can print. Bulk QR labels for many styles at once are coming as a brand feature.
Privacy
Who can see my passport?
Anyone with the link or the QR code. Passports aren't listed in search engines. Verified details are masked, and private details are only shown to your company.
Will competitors see my suppliers?
No. Once a document is verified, certificate numbers, files, manufacturer and lab details are masked behind the badge, and you can hide supplier names for free. A verified manufacturer shows only its state or country.
How do I share full details with a retailer or auditor?
Create a private full-detail link on your passport and send it. It shows everything unmasked, and you can delete it whenever you like.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can export your data or delete your account from your account settings. Passport codes stay reserved so a printed QR never points to someone else's product.
Payments and refunds
How do I pay?
When you order, you get a payment link. Prices are in US dollars, per check or test, and shown before you pay; GST is added for customers in India.
Can I pay from outside India?
Yes. Prices are in US dollars, so you see exactly what you pay. Your bank's exchange rate applies if you pay in another currency.
Can I cancel a test order?
Yes. If you cancel before your sample reaches our office, you get a full refund. After that, the rules on our refunds page apply.
Fabric suppliers
A customer asked me for a TexPass. What do I do?
Open their request link, create a free fabric passport for the lot and add your certificates and test reports. It links into your customer's product passport. It's free for fabric suppliers.
